Jonathan Renard, PhD., is Associate Professor of Media Ecology at Central Standard University.
He received his B.A. in Communication from Medfield College in 1953 and his M.A. in Medieval Studies from Miskatonic University in 1959.
At Medfield he served as an announcer on the campus radio station; at MU he was a clerk in the University library.
From 1958 to 1966, Renard was an assistant in the Children's Department of Charles Fort Public Library in Tumblerock, Maine, delighting children of all ages and hopelessly confusing their parents. Returning to Miskatonic, he completed his doctorate there in 1974. Since then, he has taught full time a variety of subjects, all connected in some way with his interest in the continuity between ancient symbolism, modern media images, and what makes people buy stuff. He has also been a consultant to advertisers, department stores, and toy manufacturers.
Renard married Margaret Fuchs in 1961. They have four children. Fnord.
